Labor Minister Neto Zarzar Lighe will participate in a High-Level Panel Discussion on the Demographic Dividend and Youth Employment on June 1 at an event of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

According to the invitation from the President of the General Assembly, Minister Lighe will deliver a paper on the topic “Demographic Dividend and Youth Employment,” on behalf of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and the Government of Liberia.

The event will bring together participants from around the world, including heads of state.

Minister Lighe at head of a three-man delegation departs the country Thursday, May 28, for New York.

Meanwhile, the Minister will also head a Liberian tripartite delegation (Government, Employers and Workers Representatives) to the 104thSession of the International Labor Conference in Geneva, Switzerland.

The International Labor Conference is the International Labor Organization (ILO) highest decision-making body.
It meets annually in June, bringing together the tripartite delegations from the organization’s 185 member states.
