Jackson Urges New LNBA Leadership To Put Clients’ Interest Above Money-Making

MONROVIA, June 3 (LINA) – Deputy Information Minister for Public Affairs Isaac Jackson has cautioned leaders of the Liberia National Bar Association (LNBA) to place more emphasis on providing legal services to their clients than money-making.

Addressing a press conference at the Ministry of Information in Monrovia Wednesday, Jackson said the LNBA as an “advocacy body” must exert every degree of professionalism to seek the interest of legal clients.

“The LNBA is an advocacy body that is very professional; and should play an active role in public hearings at the National Legislature to provide the legal background on some of the laws that lawmakers make,” Jackson said.

It can be recalled that over the weekend the Liberia National Bar Association elected a new corps of officers in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County to run the affairs of the Bar.

He then congratulated Cllr. G. Moses Paygar for his election as president of the LNBA; Cllr. Bima Lansanah as Vice President and others.

Jackson hoped the new leadership will play a pro-active role during national or public legal debates that are controversial.
