ROBERTSPORT, June 3 (LINA)-The Grand Cape Mount County Agriculture Coordinator (CAC) Edmord Greaves says government has decided to augment farming activities in Grand Cape Mount County by affording farmers in the county the opportunity to produce more food and reserve some for the next farming season.

As a drive of empowerment, the Ministry of Agriculture Grand Cape Mount County branch has provided corn seeds, cassava cuttings and seed rice to 10,045 (ten thousand and forty five) farmers in the county.

The County Agriculture Coordinator made the disclosure recently in an interview with the Liberia News Agency correspondent in Robertsport.

He said 665 farmers including Ebola survivors have benefited from improved seed rice under the Economic Recovery Program; 300 hundred farmers received improved cassava cuttings, while 180 farmers benefited from corn seeds.

He said the corn and rice seeds have been tested with a positive result of 96 % which makes it viable to the farmers.
