hampering the work of the institution.
Jonathan Wilford said the institution currently has four casual workers at the Klay Fishery Industry and Farmers Research Center, a situation that makes it difficult for the entity to achieve its targeted production goal.
Making the disclosure to the Liberia News Agency in Klay recently, Wilford said the center is engaged in reproduction of fish, pigs, goats and cattle and educating farmers, an objective that cannot be achieved fully considering limited manpower at the center.
He is therefore calling on authorities at the Ministry of Agriculture to beef up the strength of the manpower at the center to increase production.
He told LINA that since the rehabilitation of the center by the ministry in 2007, the issue of budgetary allotment has been a major challenge, adding, “For the center to effectively operate, the Ministry of Agriculture should make direct budgetary allotment for it.”
