According to MCC Public Relations Officer Nyepan Jlateh, operating garages at street corners in the city and its surroundings is in violation of the City Ordinance.
Jlateh told the Liberia News Agency in an interview Thursday that the MCC has embarked on a major clean-up and demolishing of makeshift garages on the Bushrod Island.
He stressed that vehicles parked on streets for repair will be picked up by the MCC tow trucks and owners will pay a fine for violating the city ordinance before their vehicles are released to them.
He noted that makeshift garages at street corners are hampering the free flow of traffic and defacing the city.
