Pres. Sirleaf Congratulates DR Congo On 55th Nat’l Day

(LINA) - President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has sent a message of congratulations to the Government and People of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on the

occasion commemorating the 55th Independence Anniversary of that country on Tuesday, June 30, 2015.

In her message to President Joseph Kabila, President Sirleaf stressed: “It gives me immense pleasure to extend to you, and through you, to the Government and People of Congo, heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia, and in my own name, as the people of the DRC commemorate this joyous occasion.

President Sirleaf hoped that the cordial and historic ties of friendship and cooperation that have so long subsisted between the two sisterly Republics and peoples will be further strengthened to the mutual benefits of their respective peoples.

A Ministry of Foreign Affairs release emphasized that the ties will develop as they continue to work together in furtherance of the principles of the African Union and the United Nations for the promotion of international peace, security and economic cooperation amongst all nations.

The Liberian Leader also prayed that the Almighty God will endow President Kabila with abundant wisdom and strength as he leads his people to sustainable peace and greater prosperity.
