V.P. Boakai made the statement in Buchanan recently when he officially dedicated the newly-constructed Service Center on Robert Street in the City.

He noted that for so long people from across the country had to travel on bad roads, sometimes for many days especially during the rainy season, just to cash their cheeks or to register their vehicles, among others.

“But here we are today ushering in the beginning of the end of this story,” he noted.

“The construction of the Service Center in Bassa is nothing short of a remarkable doing; we will not rest until every county has a service center to provide our citizens certain basic services so that they don’t travel long distances to Monrovia to do little things that could be done right in their counties,” he stressed.

The Vice President disclosed that the center will oversee the processing and issuance of traditional marriage certificates, herbalist certificate, business registry, ECOWAS birth certificate and children birth certificate, among others.

He called on citizens and other business operators from Maryland, River Cess, Sinoe and Grand Kru to make use of the service center as the government is working out plans to establish service centers in those counties.
