(LINA) - President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has sent a message of congratulations and best wishes to the Government and People of Somalia on the occasion

marking the celebration of the 55th Independence Anniversary of that country.

In her message to President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, President Sirleaf extended warmest congratulations and best wishes to the Government and People of Somalia, on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia, and in her own name.

A Ministry of Foreign Affairs release said President Sirleaf hoped that as the People of Somalia celebrate another year of independence, Liberia and Somalia will continue to collaborate in the promotion of international peace, economic integration and social development.

The Liberian leader further expressed her determination to continue to strengthen the cordial relations subsisting between the two countries for the mutual benefits of their respective countries and peoples.

She prayed that Allah will continue to endow President Mohamud with wisdom as he leads his compatriots on the path to peace and economic stability.
