-A newly-constructed Ebola Treatment Unit (ETU) at the Tellewoyan Memorial Hospital in Voinjama wasMonday dedicated in Voinjama, City Lofa County.

The ETU was constructed by Pacific Architects Engineers (PAE) with funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The Unit was turned over to the Women And Health Alliance International (WAHA), an institution that is responsible for clinical at the ETU.

It contains doffing, donning, storage, triage and isolation rooms with beds, blankets, buckets, plastic chairs, cups, lights as well as toilets and bathrooms for both patients and health workers.

The recently constructed ETU is the second by PAE and USAID since the outbreak of the Ebola virus in the county and its suburbs.

Presenting the keys to WAHA on behalf of the County Health Team (CHT), the hospital’s Chief Administrator Prince Sesay lauded USAID and PAE for the ETU, especially now that the country has had three confirmed cases of the virus, describing the unit as timely.

Receiving the keys, WAHA International County Representative, Dr. Fatouma Mabeyo Sidikou, called on citizens of the county to report cases of people showing signs and symptoms of the virus for immediate and quick treatment.
