Chief Justice Francis S. Korkpor said ruling in the case will be made following the issuance of a notice of assignment.
Chief Justice Korkpor took the decision Wednesday following legal arguments in the case filed against the NEC and Senator Brown.
In their argument, lawyers representing Representative Chambers said their client was not accorded due process during NEC investigation into his compliant of election irregularities.
They therefore requested the Supreme Court to order the NEC to conduct an investigation into their client’s complaint in keeping with the due process of law.
In counter argument, lawyers representing Senator Brown asked the Court to deny and dismiss Representative Chambers’ request and confirm Senator Brown as winner of the Maryland County Senatorial election because the process was consistent with Liberia’s electoral laws.
They added that the NEC strictly committed itself in dealing with electoral laws rather than technicalities in handling Representative Bhofal Chambers’ complaint.

MONROVIA, July 8 (LINA) –The Supreme Court of Liberia has reserved ruling in the 2014 Senatorial Election irregularities complaint filed by Maryland County Representative Bhofal Chambers against Senator Gbleh-bo Brown and the National Elections Commission (NEC).
