The firm was fined Wednesday after one of its lawyers told the Supreme Court that the firm failed to file its client’s brief with the court due to technical problems they experienced at the law firm.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court of Liberia has ordered the law firm to file the brief on or before Friday, deposit the money into government treasury within 72 hours, and submit the receipt to the office of the Supreme Court Marshall.

On Tuesday, Chief Justice Francis Korkpor warned lawyers in the habit of not filing their briefs and delaying the expeditious disposition of cases pending before the Supreme Court to desist.

Chief Justice Korkpor said the court will remain resolute in instituting appropriate measures against lawyers and law firms to ensure compliance in filing briefs and other relevant legal papers in time.
