Deputy IMS Manager, Dr. Francis Kateh, said a total of seven cumulative cases are now in the Ebola Treatment Unit (ETU) in Margibi County, three of which are suspected cases, while four have been confirmed by the IMS.
Addressing the Ministry of Information regular press conference in Monrovia Thursday, Kateh indicated that a total of 120 contacts have been generated from the infected zone, all of whom are currently undergoing volunteer precautionary observation.
Kateh has, however, reassured Liberians that the IMS is in control of the situation and that all mechanisms have been put in place to contain the disease.
He said since the resurgence of the disease in the country, a lot of standard protocols have been put into place to ensure that infected persons receive the best possible care required for the treatment of Ebola.
With news of four confirmed cases, Liberia as of June 29 has reported a total of five confirmed cases with the index case being a 17-year-old boy who has since died of the virus.
Speculations as to how he contracted the virus continue, but the IMS has assured that it will soon issue a press statement centering on scientific findings as to how the 17-year-old came in contact with the virus.

MONROVIA, July 9 (LINA) –Authorities of the Incident Management System (IMS) have confirmed that Liberia now has four confirmed new cases of the deadly Ebola virus.
