The boy, whose name is being withheld by the Liberian News Agency because he is a minor, was traveling from Monrovia when the DEA officers arrested him during routine security check at the Owensgrove checkpoint.
In an exclusive interview with LINA at the DEA”s office on Robert Street, Buchanan City, The DEA Bassa Detachment head, Major Joseph Taggedine, said the DEA officers found five tubes of heroine with a street value of L$50,000 with the boy and then effected his arrest.
Major Taggedine said the boy told investigators that the substance belonged to an unidentified Nigerian national who left the bag in the car with him in order to be checked.
The boy denied possessing the drug.
Meanwhile, Major Taggedine has appealed to government to sign into law a draft Act making drug offenses non-baillable .

15 October 2014, 10:24 am Written by Micat LiberiaBUCHANAN, October 14 (LINA) - A 16-year-old boy was Tuesday arrested by the Grand Bassa County detachment of the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) while allegedly attempting to smuggle 50 grams of heroin into the county.
