Minister Bush stated that the Liberian people can choose to act now or wait to ponder and suffer the consequences of climate change which will affect the
present generation and the ones unborn.
The transport ministry boss sounded the warning Wednesday at the start of a two-day forum for Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDC) of multi-stakeholders inception organized by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) at the Monrovia City Hall.
She indicated that extreme weather changes and unpredictable weather are a threat to human existence, and called for the reduction of human activities that produce carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide.
She explained that the INDC presents a platform for national dialogue where stakeholders can deliberate on how the country should develop over the next decades in view of the development needs and challenges.
Minister Bush emphasized that the INDC will represent a significant milestone to the success of the United Nations climate deals both in 2015 and he future, noting that for the first time in history all countries are being challenged to come forward with pledges to manage their greenhouse gas emissions.
