According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, en route to Greenville in Sione County, President Sirleaf will dedicate the newly-constructed Tarjuwon Public School in Tarjuwon District on Tuesday, July 21.
The ministry said the dedication of the building, along with other development projects in Greenville, will form part of the calendar of events for Liberia’s 168th Independence Day celebration.
According to the itinerary, the Liberian leader will meet with senior members of Sinoe County on July 22, visit the Port of Greenville and later honor a children’s socialization day which will be climaxed by a national cultural event coordinated by the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism on Thursday, July 23.
The Islamic community under the auspices of the National Muslim Council of Liberia will on Friday, July 24, hold a thanksgiving and intercessory prayer at the Sinoe County Central Mosque.
The President and entourage will depart Sinoe for Grand Kru County on Saturday, July 25, where she will dedicate several development projects.
Another thanksgiving and intercessory ceremony will be hosted on Sunday, July 26, by the Liberia Council of Churches at the Barclayville City Hall in Grand Kru County.
After the service, the President and entourage will return to Greenville, Sinoe County to honor a sports jamboree between the Sinoe and Grand Kru Counties All-Stars soccer teams.
The official 168th independence celebration will hold at the J. Dominic Bing City Hall in Greenville on Monday, July 27, to be followed by an Independence Day reception hosted by the President of Liberia to climax the independence festivities.
The Independence Day activities began Thursday with the hosting of the Golden Image Award and dinner at the Monrovia City Hall.
On Friday, July 17, an Investiture Ceremony will be held in the C. Cecil Dennis Auditorium at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
