MONROVIA, October 14 (LINA) - The Supreme Court of Liberia has officially announced the deaths of several judges and other staff of the Judiciary during the March Term of Court.

 

Speaking at the formal opening of the Supreme Court for its October Term on Monday, Chief Justice Francis S. Korkpor, expressed regrets over the deaths of several judges during the March Term of Court, especially, former Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, Cllr. J.D. Baryogar Junius, who died on July 3, 2014 in Monrovia.

Justice Korkpor said the deaths of the judges affected the judicial system in whatever way they served their nation, saying “they will be remembered for their dedication to duty.”

According to Chief Justice Korkpor, Judges who lost their lives during the period under review include Augustine Beateah, Traffic Court Judge, Traffic Court, Harper City, Maryland County who died April 5, 2014.
Others are Sayou Nagbe, Associate Magistrate, Glarrow Magistrate Court, River Gee County, who died June 30; Daniel D. Jiffan, Associate Magistrate, Baffubay Magistrate Court, Sinoe County and Mr. Gyasi Dickson, Executive Secretary, Grievance and Ethic Committee, Temple of Justice, who died on June 17.

Also named are Ms. Mary Fineboy, Pay mistress, Finance Division, Temple of Justice, who died September 5; Mr. Eugene Stevens, Probate Clerk,13th Judicial Circuit, Margibi County, who died May 25; Mr. Francis Sackor, Bailiff, Debt Court, Montserrado County who died August 29, and Daniel Kpakolo, Bailiff, Criminal Court “C”, Temple of Justice who passed away on September 10.

Also on the list are Mr. Thomas Sarlee, Bailiff, Harper City Magistrate Court, Maryland County, who died August 5; Ms. Decontee Seah, Caretaker, Maintenance Division Temple of Justice died April1, 2014, Ms. Margaret S. Nagbe, Caretaker, Maintenance Division, Temple of Justice, who died July 27.
Mr. Alfred D.K Phelps, Chauffeur, Transport Division, Temple of Justice, who died September14; and Mr. Richard Kpagbor, Gardener, Maintenance Division, Temple of Justice, who died August 2.
