The Liberian leader said the improvement in infrastructure and port services under the current NPA leadership headed by David Williams is laudable, and hoped that the port’s gradual development will boost economic activities in the county and Liberia as a whole.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday during the dedication of several development projects at the Samuel A. Russ Port of Greenville, President Sirleaf stressed that such undertaking by the NPA management will also restore hope in the investment climate of the country.
In remarks, NPA Manager David Williams who led the President and her delegation on a guided tour of projects dedicated expressed appreciation to government for the support given the entity and promised to replicate similar development in the port of Harper in Maryland County.
He said developments at the Samuel A. Russ Port of Greenville which were implemented in a relatively short period of time were made possible as a result of the dedicated services and commitment of employees of the NPA.
Sinoe and Grand Kru Counties which are jointly hosting Liberia’s 168th Independence Anniversary celebration will in the next few days witness the dedication of several developmental projects, all of which were initiated by government to decentralize development and ensure the involvement of local county authorities in the governance system of the country.
The independence celebration has left its two hosts for the past few days in a state of celebration and merry making, with government officials from around the country as well as well-wishers and local citizens all optimistic about a joyous independence celebration on the 26th of July.
