MONROVIA, July 30 (LINA) – Religious groups will Friday, July 31, begin a nationwide parade to give thanks and praises to God for saving Liberia from the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD).

Making the disclosure Thursday at the Ministry of Information press briefing, a member of the organizing committee, Rev. David Benitoe, said the parade is intended to thank God for the many blessings He continues to bestow upon Liberia, especially during the Ebola outbreak.

Rev. Benitoe, who is also Pastor of the Bethel World Outreach Cathedral, noted that “it is incumbent upon all citizens irrespective of your religious faith to offer prayers to God for his intervention,” adding, “there will be Thanksgiving to God nationwide.”

He said the praise carnival will begin on Broad Street opposite the Providence Baptist Church, which is the first church that was established in Liberia.

He urged all citizens and foreigners to wear white garments to participate in the parade.
