He said Chinese assistance to the ministry is helping to build the profile of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL).
Speaking Thursday at the Chinese Embassy in Congo Town during a reception to mark the 88th Anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA), Minister Samukai congratulated the Peoples Liberation Army on the occasion of its 88th Anniversary.
Minister Samukai then appealed to the Chinese Government to provide assistance to the AFL in the form of logistics as well as in building its engineering capacity.
Also speaking, the Chinese Military Attaché to Liberia, Captain Zhang Fenghua, reassured China’s continued assistance to the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL).
He assured that China will continue to provide assistance to the AFL to help it effectively perform its responsibilities of defending the country and safeguarding the peace.

The Chinese Army Captain also hoped that the friendly ties currently subsisting between Liberia and the People’s Republic of China as well as the armed forces of the two countries, the AFL and PLA, will continue to grow.
