Dr. Isaac said despite the closure of schools for a little over six months due to the Ebola pandemic, “these young men and women were resilient and waited patiently for the reopening of schools to continue their quest for academic excellence.”
The AMEU president made the call Wednesday at the 15th graduation exercises of the AMEU held at the Winners’ Chapel in the Monrovia suburb of Congo Town.
According to the AMEU president, the graduation ceremony “is a very special and unique one” for all the graduates comprise two groups.
Isaac identified them as the group that was scheduled to graduate in 2014, but did not due to the Ebola crisis that forced the university to suspend all activities.
He said the second group is a smaller segment of the class, noting that they completed all university requirements in 2015 and qualified for graduation, noting that this was one of the reasons they deserve to be honored.
He then urged the graduates to stay focused on their academic achievements as they have started a new beginning.
