MNG gold is a Turkish mining company operating in the district.
Presenting the generator on behalf of the institution in Botota recently, the Government/Community Relations Manager Ben Sayeh said the donation was in continuation of efforts by the company to strengthen its relationship with the people of Kokoyah.
Sayeh noted that the donation was also a result of an assessment which showed that a set of computers donated to the district superintendent’s office could not be used due to the lack of electricity.
He said though MNG gold has not commenced full operation in Kokoyah, the company will live up to its social responsibility under the Mineral Development Agreement it signed with the Government of Liberia.
Receiving the generator, the acting Statutory District Superintendent Nixon Kpee described MNG gold as “a true partner” to the citizens of Kokoyah through its continuous commitment to improve the lives of the people.
Kpee, however, appealed to the company to direct some of its interventions to the rehabilitation of feeder roads in the district.
