He told the cyclists that refraining from violence will not only provide them livelihood but will also attract investors who will in turn contribute to the country’s economy.
The acting Deputy Chief of Police gave the warning Wednesday during an awareness and sensitization tour intended to brief motorcyclists on the enforcement of restrictions and measures instituted by the police.
He indicated that while police will no longer run after motorcyclists, they need to stay within the confines of the law by refraining from plying “No Go Zones” and at all times referencing the police when aggrieved, rather than resorting to violence.
“We are mandated to ensure your protection as citizens, and this we will do with courtesy and respect for your rights, but please stay out of trouble and remain law abiding citizens,” Mulbah stressed.
He reiterated the observance of the 10:00 PM curfew, carrying of one passenger at a time, and wearing of protective gears, among others.
The one-day awareness and sensitization exercise of the LNP with motorcyclists took high level law enforcement officers of the police to nearly all parking points in Monrovia and its suburbs to interact with them. LINA BMK/TSS/PTK
