Bartekwa observed that the decision was prudent because it has helped to accelerate the implementation of development projects in the county, especially in the areas of road connectivity, electricity and infrastructure.
He told Legislative Reporters Tuesday that the county is now connected from three fronts - Maryland, Sinoe and River Gee counties.
Prior to the celebration of the Independence Anniversary in Grand Kru County, it was not accessible by road, and as a result, residents complained of unbearable living conditions as the movement of people, goods and services was hampered.
Meanwhile, Representative Bartekwa has urged citizens of Grand Kru to take advantage of its current improved state and return to the county to contribute their quota to development programs.
He observed that the county lacks trained manpower in the areas of education and health, among others, noting that it requires the collective efforts of all to remedy the situation.
Bartekwa reminded his kinsmen that it is only citizens of the area who can develop the county, adding, “Outsiders will just assist you in the process.”
