In remarks at the ceremony, the Director of Pay Benefit and Pension at the Civil Service Agency (CSA), Mahdea George Belieka,,commended the retirees for their dedicated services to the nation and wished them
well in their future endeavors.
She lauded the Ministry of Finance Planning and Development for cooperating with the CSA, and assured that the Government of Liberia was committed to providing benefits to all retirees commensurate with their period of service to the nation. Speaking on behalf of the retirees, the former Director General for Tourism, Mr. Ambrose Wiagbe, thanked the ministry for having afforded them the opportunity to serve their country, and pledged their willingness to avail themselves to the ministry for services if called upon.
Also speaking, the Minister of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism, Lewis Brown lauded the retirees for their dedicated services to the nation, and assured that the retirees could be called upon to play consultancy roles at the ministry in order to utilize their expertise when the need arises. "We will be calling upon you for consultancy for this ministry any time we deem it fit as we have confidence in the ability of some of you to deliver," Minister Brown emphasized.
According to the MICAT Boss, the employees were retired in keeping with the CSA standing rules requiring the retirement of long-service employees. He pointed out that no one at MICAT has the mind to take bread from
anyone’s mouth stressing, “taking bread from someone will not means it will come in my month,” Minister Brown pointed out.
