NPA managing director and other suspects through the Family Dollars Universal Insurance Service (FDUIS).
Suspended Matilda Parker and two others were indicted this year for alleged
economic sabotage, theft of property and criminal conspiracy.
The others are National Port Authority (NPA) Comptroller Christina Kpabar Paelay and the Chief Executive Officer of Denmar Enterprise, Deneah M. Flomo charged for allegedly robbing government of US$837,950.
Handing down the final ruling Tuesday, Judge Gbenewelleh said the bond filed by defendant Parker and others has met the requirements to execute the criminal appearance bond in the case.
He added that the primary objective or purpose of the criminal appearance bond is to secure the appearance of the defendants before a court of competent jurisdiction.
He further indicated that the surety during the examination answered in the affirmative that the defendants will appear before the court whenever needed, noting that the bond is therefore valid.
Judge Gbenewelleh said the surety bond was examined consistent with law and justified before the court that the insurance company has US$400,000 in cash and property worth US$350,000 as requirements of the Central Bank of Liberia to grant a certificate authorizing them to establish an insurance company in Liberia.
He said therefore Parker and others have a bond that is valid
