MONROVIA, August 13 (LINA) -The World Food Program (WFP) has donated a vehicle valued at US$35,000 to the National Drug Service of Liberia (NDS).

Presenting the vehicle Thursday, WFP Representative and Country Director Sory Ibrahim Ouane described the donation as one that grew out of the organization’s desire to assist NDS with its supply chain management.

Ouane noted that the donation is also predicated upon the cardinal role NDS plays in the delivery of health services to citizens.

Receiving the vehicle, NDS Managing Director Beyan Johnson thanked WFP for selecting his institution for the donation, noting that the vehicle will help reduce the logistics constraints facing the NDS.

He added that the vehicle will also assist with the distribution and collection of data which is a major function of NDS.
NDS, an auxiliary of the Ministry of Health, has the mandate to store quality and essential drugs and distribute them to both public and private health facilities across the country.
