Man, 42, Detained On Drug Charges

MONROVIA, August 13 (LINA) - The Monrovia City Court at the Temple of Justice has detained a 42-year-old man on charges of illegal possession of narcotic drugs.


Henry Otto, a resident of Kakata, Margibi County, was on August 9 arrested with eight bags of 52 kilograms of marijuana valued at L$289,000 by Inspector David Kieh and his team at the 15 Gate Checkpoint.

The police charge sheet stated that Otto was later turned over to the Anti-Narcotic Unit, Crime Services Department of the Liberia National Police by Inspector Paul M. Nuah of the Careysburg Police detachment in Montserrado County.

During police investigation, Otto admitted he owns the car used to transport the drug, but denied that it belonged to him.

Meanwhile, Otto is detained at the Monrovia Central Prison awaiting court trial.
