Rev Kortu K. Brown stated that 2017 elections are crucial because it would be the first time since such transition took place when the President Edwin Barclay turned power over to President William V. S. Tubman in 1944.
Rev Brown made the statement Sunday at programs marking the 17th Anniversary of the New Water in the Desert Assembly of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Brewerville outside Monrovia.
He stressed that the Liberian Government and people should do everything possible for the country to have an effective political transition after the 2017 elections.
Brown explained that preparation is critical on the part of government, political parties and the citizenry to properly manage the transition process to avoid chaos and confusion in the country.
The LCC official emphasized that Liberians should not take the 2017 general and presidential elections for granted, noting that it will determine whether Liberia moves forward or backward.
