MONROVIA, August 17 (LINA) - Deputy Agriculture Minister for Planning and Development, Charles McClain, has caution participants at a weeklong workshop on Cadre Harmonization to take advantage of the training for the growth and development of the country.

The workshop is gear toward strengthening the capacity of national stakeholders on new technical guidelines for conducting cadre harmonization analysis on food and nutrition insecurity and to build understanding on the classification of the nature and severity of the current food and nutrition insecurity.

The cadre harmonization approach and tool will be used to produce the consensual communication and mapping on food and nutrition insecurity in Liberia.

He said the training workshop could not have come at a better time, particularly after the Ebola virus menace which did not only affect food and nutrition security but the entire development efforts put in place by government.

Speaking Monday at a local hotel during the start of the workshop, McClain told participants that it was necessary to take advantage of the training opportunity because it seeks to provide skills that will enable national staff to analyze the food and nutrition security situation in Liberia, Sierra Lone and Guinea.
