Some business people and consumers told the Liberia News Agency via mobile phone Wednesday that the persistent refusal of mutilated bank notes was seriously hampering trade and commercial activities in the county.

They said the situation which is an age-old one, was also discouraging the economic growth of the county.

A Fulah Businessman in Harper who pleaded for anonymity, told LINA that business people are refusing the mutilated notes from consumers who also refuse their change in the same mutilated notes whenever they transact business.
This situation, according to the Fulani businessman, is worrisome and therefore asked Government to find a lasting solution to it.
