Making the disclosure live on Radio Gee from the DEA Office in Fishtown on Tuesday, the head of the River Gee DEA Detachment, Major William Martins, said “Satta is a notorious drug importer from Nimba County who is importing drugs and drug chemical substances into River Gee County”.
The DEA County Commander put the street value of the 400KG drugs at $200,000LD which was tested in the presence of the UNMIL Team in River Gee.
Major Martins pointed out that Satta was arrested in Joquiken, a gold mining area where the use of narcotic drugs is widespread.
Satta has been charged with illegal possession of unlicensed manufactured controlled drugs or substances under the new drugs Law of the Republic of Liberia 14.104 that was approved by the President of Liberia, Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf on October 11, 2014.
Meanwhile, Satta has been sent to the Fishtown Magisterial Court for trial.
Since the destruction of drugs on June 26, 2015 during celebration of International Drug Day, this is the first major arrest of drugs the DEA Office has made in River Gee County.
