“Stop Criticism, Appreciate Work Done By Public Works” - Moore

(LINA) – Public Works Minister William Moore has

called on the media and critics to desist from speaking negatively about the ministry and appreciate the gains being made in road rehabilitation and construction.

Moore’s call comes amidst lack of commendation of the Ministry of Public Works, despite the successful completion of roads leading to Sinoe and Grand Kru counties ahead of the July 26 celebration in those counties.

“No one commended the ministry for completing the reconstruction of those roads before the Independence Day celebrations,” he emphasized, adding, “If it had not happened, every single newspaper or media house was going to report about the fiasco in Sinoe and Grand Kru counties.”

He added: “One of the things that we have noticed is that everybody is quick to recognize what is not done and then criticize, but when good things happen, people do not appreciate or talk about it.”

Minister Moore pointed out that even though it is the duty of the engineers at the ministry to do their work, they, too, need to be appreciated.

He noted that “when Government works for citizenry in that way (Sinoe and Grand Kru Counties), it is part of the responsibility of the press to inform the people, not only to inform the citizens about things when they do not happen.”
