According to NEC Chairman Jerome G. Korkoya, the package will form part of the recently launched National Curriculum on Citizenship Education.
He made the disclosure on Monday, August 31, at the launch of the Civic Voter Education (CVE) Toolkit in the James M. Fromayan Conference Hall at the NEC headquarters on 9th Street in Monrovia.
The curriculum was launched on Monday, August 25, by President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, signifying government’s commitment to patriotic citizenship.
Chairman Korkoya is optimistic that the realization of the democratic elections package will considerably deepen the understanding of citizens on their roles, rights and responsibilities in the sustenance of the country’s emerging democracy.
He lauded the EU, UNDP, IFES and other international partners, citizens and political institutions for the support they continue to lend the NEC.
