MONROVIA Oct, 8 (LINA)-The Government of Liberia has described as “totally unacceptable” the practice by drug dealers converting human skeletons into narcotic drugs for human consumption.

Deputy Information Minister for Public Affairs Isaac Jackson told journalists at the Ministry of Information press briefing at the ministry Thursday that any drug dealer caught in such wanton act will be arrested and prosecuted.

According to Jackson, drug dealers habitually burst graves and exhume the bones of humans which they mix with cocaine and sell or give to others to consume.

“This act is sheer wickedness which is increasing the level of mentally ill people in the streets, while young people especially, are going astray on a daily basis,” he added.

Jackson pointed out that marijuana, cocaine and other narcotic substances are contributing factors to the serious mental health problems of many citizens.

He said the Liberia National Police and the Drug Enforcement Agency have been mandated to make sure that the country’s drug laws are enforced to prevent such acts.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister Jackson  is calling on those engaged in this practice to desist or face prosecution.
