Police authority Thursday confirmed the dismissal of 15 officers for deserting their posts.

Police spokesman Sam Collins informed our reporter that the officers constantly absent from duty without an official leave.

Collins said the officers' action was in violation of Chapter III Section 1.12, 14 and 21 of the New Police Duty Manual captioned "prohibited conduct".

Those dismissed are ACP. George E. Tamba, Capt. Tweh-Max William, Patrolmen Moses M. Flomo, Anthony G. Morris, Lucia L. Vakona, Fitzgerald J. Smith, Wehyee Myers and Dweh F. Konowe.

Others are Patrolmen Will A. Duo, Mohammed A. Kaba, Rene T. Juwle, Ruben S. Dus, John E. Harvey and Sam D. Howard.

"The affected officers have been mandated to turn over all government properties in their possession with immediate effect," Collins said. "Meaning they are no longer in the employ of the Liberia National Police. Anyone doing business with the dismissed personnel of the LNP as police officers will be doing it at their own risk."
