(LINA) -The Commissioner-General of the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA), Elfrieda Tamba, has stressed the need for investment in quality education to develop

the youths and prepare them for “meaningful contributions” to the country in the future.

The Commissioner-General made the call Friday when she spoke at the 9th gala day and official opening program of the Liberian-Turkish Light International School in Sinkor.

Tamba pointed out that the youths are the future leaders of the country, adding that investing in their education will better prepare them for the challenges of tomorrow.

She said the educational system requires significant investments to meet the standards needed in producing better products.

She lauded the Turkish Light International for their decision to invest in education in Liberia and their achievements as one of the better schools in Liberia, despite the reported low standards of education in the country.

Tamba applauded the school for the progress “in a limited time frame” and urged authorities to keep providing such quality education.

She then advised the students to be respectful, serious and law-abiding in their academic sojourn as they are future leaders for their country.

She described good students as those who are respectful to their parents, school and national authorities while pursuing their education.
