MONROVIA, March 31 (LINA) - The Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC) has disclosed that delivery of pipe born water to Monrovia and its environs will target 16 million gallons of water daily in the next eighteen months.

LWSC Managing Director Mr. Hum-bu Tulay said the corporation is currently providing more than four million gallons of water daily with the prospect of serious growth.

Addressing the weekly press briefing of the Ministry of the Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism, Tulay said the corporation is currently operating from a single source at White Plain outside Monrovia with efforts being made to identify other sources.

He also explained that three provincial cities, including Zwedru in Grand Gedeh, Kakata in Margibi and Buchanan in Grand Bassa counties, will in eight months benefit from the provision of pipe-born water.

Mr. Tulay said the corporation is lobbying for funding to conduct feasibility studies in the administrative seats of the remaining counties for possible consideration of the provision of safe drinking water.
