MONROVIA, April 6 (LINA) – President Ellen Johnson has urged 14 newly commissioned officials of the government to be focused, strong and ready to face series of challenges as they take up their new assignments.

Making the call at a well-attended Commissioning Ceremony in the C. Cecil Dennis Hall at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Monrovia on Tuesday, President Sirleaf called on them to take up their new tasks with diligence in order for the government to achieve its last-minute deliverables.

“These are trying and interesting times as there will be challenges and obstacles that will come your way as you take up this national call; you will be accused of one thing or the other, but remain resolute and do your respective jobs for the good of your country”, the Liberian leader stressed.

She admonished the honorees to run faster than ever before to ensure that the government’s development agenda are achieved, as her administration reaches the finished lines so that they can be judged positively by history and posterity.

Those commissioned by President Sirleaf are Ambassador Marjon V. Kamara, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Amb. Lewis G. Brown II, Liberia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations; Dr. Henrique Tokpa, Minister of Internal Affairs and Hon. Moses Zinnah, Minister of Agriculture.

Other honorees include Hon. Lenn Eugene Nagbe, Minister of Information; Hon. Neto Z. Lighe, Minister of Labor; Hon. Julia Duncan Cassell, Minster of Gender; Amb Sylvester Grigsby, Minster of State without Portfolio and Cllr Robert C. Tubman, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA).

The rest of the honorees are Elfrieda S. Tamba, Commissioner-General, LRA; Hon. Charles R. Bright, member of the board of LRA; Hon. Aletha Brown Cooper, member of the board of LRA; Oliver N. Rogers, Deputy Commissioner-General/Administration, LRA and Hon. Dekontee King-Sackie, Deputy Commissioner-General/Operations, LRA.

Meanwhile, President Sirleaf conferred upon Ambassador Marjon V. Kamara, the honor of Dame Great Band in the Humane Order of African Redemption.

The occasion was graced by senior officials from the three branches of government, members of the Diplomatic corps, foreign dignitaries, officials of the National Traditional Council and family members of the honorees amongst others.
