GDA is an umbrella organization of all Glarro citizens in Liberia and the Diaspora.
GDA President Thomas Garwo told the Liberia News Agency Wednesday that since the creation of River Gee County not a single citizen of Glarro has benefited from political appointment in the county.
According to him, they all participated in establishing River Gee County and wondered why citizens from other districts continue to benefit while they are reduced to mere spectators in the running of the affairs of the county.
The GDA president indicated that this marginalization has left Glarro District completely cut off from the rest of the country because of the deplorable condition of roads that has compelled them to continue to survive on cross-border trade with Ivory Coast.
“This country can only be built when all of its citizens are given equal opportunity, including the right to serve,” he stressed.
Mr. Garwo then thanked President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf for the appointments and expressed the confidence of the Glarro people in the ability of Messrs. Nyenuh and Donmo to serve the county.
He also called on all River Gee citizens of goodwill to rally around the new administration for the growth and development of the county.
