The prohibition was filed by the General Services Agency against the Testate Estate of the late John H. Richards by and thru its Executors Matilda Richards-Outland, Adeline R, Morris, Gerald Richards and Walker Richards.
At the initial stage of the case, Associate Justice Philip A.Z. Banks recused himself on grounds that the appeal follows his ruling and could therefore not preside over the case for the second time.
For her part Associate Justice Jamesetta H. Wolokolie said she was recusing herself due to her relationship with the Richards while Justice Sie-A-Nuene G. Yuoh was absent due to ill health.
The high court, however, deferred the case to another date it did not mention. Among cases assigned for hearing of argument on Tuesday, June 28, were the case for a motion to dismiss appeal between WEASUA Air Transport Corporation Limited and the Dunbar and Dunbar Law Offices and a Bill of Information growing out of a petition for a writ of prohibition between Abbas El Debes (Informant) versus the Republic of Liberia (Respondent).
Other arguments heard were the appeal action of ejectment between the Testate Estate of the late William Thomas Bernard and others (Appellants) versus the Intestate Estate of the late Martha Stubblefield-Bernard (Appellee) and the management of CHILDFUND-Liberia versus Felie C. K. Baldeh in an appeal for unfair labor practices.
