MONROVIA, August 1 (LINA) - President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has admonished family members of fallen Presidential Affairs Minister Edward B. McClain to look up to God for strength and direction.

She referred to Dr. McClain’s death as “a blow to the family, and said she believes that it is only in God that the family can take
solace.

According to the Liberia News Agency, President Sirleaf made the remarks Sunday at the Roberts International Airport in Margibi County where she led an array of senior government officials and family members to receive the remains of the fallen Minister.

Rev. Charles O. Diggs who delivered the sermon at the brief funeral service, encouraged the bereaved family, President Sirleaf and government officials to take solace in the Lord as they mourn a father, uncle, friend and a dedicated public servant.

Dr. McClain died on Saturday, July 23, 2016, at the Wilgers Life Hospital in Lynwood, Pretoria, South Africa, following a period of illness.

Meanwhile, the body has been deposited at the Samuel A. Stryker Funeral Parlours in Sinkor where a brief service was held.
