MONROVIA, August 3 (LINA) – The National Elections Commission (NEC) has now set November 1 as the starting date to inspect the County Offices of registered political parties.

The commission said in a publication in local dailies that the shift in the date to start the inspection was predicated upon appeals by the political parties during a meeting with NEC on June 30.

The inspection exercise, which should have commenced July 14, is a requirement of part IV section 4.1of the regulation and guidelines of political parties and independent candidate.

A team of inspectors led by the oversight of the commission in each county will conduct the exercise in the morning daily.

“Accordingly, all political parties are required to provide to the election magistrates in all counties, the location of their offices no later than October 15, 2016,” the NEC stated.

It urged all registered political parties to take due note and accord the team of inspectors the necessary cooperation.
