He said the teaching these will help create high moral principles and standards that would help battle societal ills like corruption and lack of patriotism.
“I want the teaching of values and ethics to form a cardinal part of the national curriculum,” Cummings stressed.

He made the call when he served as guest speaker at the dedication of a Computer Lab built by his foundation in collaboration with the Liberia Cocoa Cola Bottling Company Wednesday in Paynesville outside Monrovia.

He said as Liberians think about education, they must also begin to think about how to instil good values in schools to add integrity to the country’s education system.

Cummings noted that Liberians given similar opportunity as his could do better and challenged citizens, particularly young people, to develop high expectations of themselves.

He stressed the need for those given quality education and having opportunities to ensure that these are complemented by hard work to succeed.

He called on students at St. Clements University to realize that “there is no free lunch and things don’t happen overnight, so those citizens desiring sustainable growth and development have to work towards achieving their goals.”

Cummings wants citizens to passionately and with commitment help to predict the future of Liberia by helping to create the future of their motherland.

He added: “The best way to predict the future is to create it.”
