MONROVIA, August 29 (LINA) - Local leaders, including District Commissioners and Chiefs in Bong County, have benefitted from a one-day leadership skills capacity-building training workshop.

Organized by the National Youth Movement for Transparent Elections, (NAYMOTE) at the weekend, the overall goal of the training was to improve the leadership skills and deepen the understanding of local leaders to ensure participatory planning and sustainable development in Bong County.

A release issue by NAYMOTE on Monday said participants deepened their understanding about leadership, characteristics of a good leader and team building, among other things.

The release said participants also learned about the County Service Center and services that are being provided there by the government and how they as local leaders can promote the use of the service centers at the district level.

It said the 30 participants were also taught how to use the Community Radio Stations to promote grassroots development and share development information in their respective communities.

The workshop, according to the release, is the second in the series of training workshops for local leaders in Bong County.
NAYMOTE is a good governance and research institution that has been working to promote democracy, transparency, and participatory governance in Liberia since 2001.
