come out with findings over the Tuesday’s September 13, 2016 fire outbreak at the Supermarket.
“We have asked the Liberia National Police (LNP) and the National Fire Service agency to investigate this matter,” said ERA Human Resource Manager D. Solomon Fyneah.
According to a release issued in Monrovia over the weekend, ERA said, the supermarket was opened and conducting its normal business when it noticed smoke coming from one of its warehouse which is situated between the Amanita Gas station and its main building which hosts the ERA supermarket.
He said upon noticing the smoke, ERA immediately contacted the fire service, adding that while the fire service was en-route, ERA employees started fighting the fire using fire extinguishers and sand.
“We like to clarify that the fire did not start from any of our generator room, neither did it affect any of our generators, as is being speculated by some members of the public. But until now, we have not been able to establish what really caused the fire; one may probably assumed it was due to electrical fault…this is shocking disaster for us all which has left both physical and psychological impact,” he said.
Meanwhile Fyneah said as results of the prompt intervention of the fire service along with the LNP as well as ERA employees and Mr. Mustapha Teher, who supplied fire fighters with water, ERA has now resumed its normal operation while awaiting result about the incident from the government.
