“All eyes will be on you as you take up this huge challenge at this time. Liberia needs its best trained security officers that will be of good example,” the Liberian leader admonished the two senior police officers.

According to a Ministry of State release, President Sirleaf made the call when she officially commissioned Police Inspector General Gregory Coleman and Deputy Inspector General for Operations, Abraham S. Kromah, in the Cabinet Room of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tuesday.

She called on them to be strong and loyal, honest and respectful in the discharge of their duties, adding, “You are also obliged to work with the community to build the confidence of the police which was started sometime ago in accordance with the rule of law and the Act that established the Liberia National Police.

The Liberian leader urged the two officials to regularly update the Legislature on security issues, especially the Committee on Defense and Security for improved relations and thanked the Senate Committee for the confirmation of the two officials.

In response, Inspector General Coleman thanked President Sirleaf for the preferment and promised to exemplify the worthy examples of a police officer as he is deeply convinced that his appointment by President Sirleaf at this time is a
calling by God to serve his nation and people.

He assured President Sirleaf that men and women of the Liberia National Police will improve the level of credibility and professionalism that all Liberians and foreign residents would be proud of.

For his part, Deputy Inspector General for Operations Kromah pledged to be a “perfect civil servant” and a loyal deputy to his boss.
He thanked President Sirleaf for once more reposing confidence in him to
serve his country.
