GBARNGA, December 30 (LINA) – Re-elected Bong County Senior Senator Jewel Howard Taylor says reconciling the people of Bong County will be her top priority during her second term in the Senate.

In an interview with the Liberia News Agency minutes after she was declared winner of the Bong County senatorial poll, Senator Taylor said although education, infrastructure and development remain priorities, reconciling citizens remains the top priority.

She called for the collaboration and coordination of all citizens for the common good of the county.

The National Elections Commission on Saturday officially declared incumbent Senator Jewel Howard Taylor winner of the December 20 Special Senatorial Election for Bong County after obtaining 13,672 votes constituting 35.2% of the 38,812 total valid votes cast in the county.

Senator Taylor is the only female to be elected in the 2014 Special Senatorial Election, while she and Senator Prince Y. Johnson of Nimba County are the only two incumbents re-elected in the 2014 Special Senatorial Election. They will serve another term in the Senate until 2024.
