TUBMANBURG, August 30 (LINA) –The President of the Rural Women in Dewein District, Bomi County, Hawa Tah, has commended Vice President Joseph N. Boakai for the donation of Ebola prevention materials to the district.
Madam Tah said the recent donation of buckets, Clorox and powder soap by the Vice President was timely, noting that it will help the people of the district to protect themselves against the Ebola Virus.
Madam Tah made the commendation on Saturday in Jenneh # 3 Compound in an interview with the Liberia News Agency.
She said even though the Ebola disease has not infected anyone in the district, early prevention is better than cure.
Meanwhile, Madam Tah has disclosed that the Dewein District Rural Women has set up teams comprising two women in each town and village in the district to disseminate Ebola prevention messages.
She is hopeful that the involvement of the women in the Ebola fight will make impact because women are people who can easily convince people to observe the prevention measures put in place by the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare.
Madam Tah urged the County Ebola Task Force to support women organizations in the county to fight the disease.
Meanwhile, she is calling on the Christian and Muslim communities as well as the youths of the district to get involved in the dissemination of Ebola prevention messages to save lives.
