MONROVIA, November 5 (LINA) -Ambassador-at-Large Alhaji G.V. Kromah has tendered his letter of resignation to President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf after being qualified by the National Elections Commission (NEC) to contest the upcoming Special Senatorial Elections.

According to an Executive Mansion release, Kromah tendered his resignation on Tuesday, November 4, consistent with a policy pronouncement by the Liberian President requesting all members of the Executive qualified by the NEC to participate in the upcoming senatorial election to resign their posts.

Accepting the letter, President Sirleaf praised Ambassador Kromah for adhering to the directive to resign and wished him well in his future endeavors.

She called on others in the same category to follow his example or face dismissal.

The Liberian leader’s pronouncement is intended to ensure that public offices and resources are not used to influence the outcomes of electoral processes.
