Gov't Lifts Quarantine on Lonfaye's Town

Government of Liberia through the Margibi County Health Team lifts 30 Ebola Quarantine on Lonfaye’s Town in Margibi County.

Head of the Incident Management Team & Assistant Minister for Preventive Services at MoH, Hon. Tolbert Nyenswah extols citizens of Lonfaye’s Town for cooperating with healthcare workers and security forces. Locals of Lonfaye’s Town complied with quarantine measures for period of 30 days.

The people of Lonfaye’s Town praised government and partners for the level of support during quarantine. The Secretary of Lonfaye Town, Jesse Konto stressed that during the quarantine agriculture activities were stopped and crops that were ready for harvest perish. However, he called on government and partners to continue to support the people of Lonfaye’s Town.   

Also speaking at the ceremony, the Deputy Minister for Public Affairs at the Ministry of Information, Hon. Isaac W. Jackson thanked the people of Lonfaye’s Town, the County Health Team and the MOH & Partners for working together to contain the virus. Hon. Jackson pointed out the reintegration of over 1,000 person after 30 days of quarantine by health authority is “a shining example of how Liberians can work together to contain the spread of the virus”.
